  • My child is ill. How do I inform the school?

    Please inform the School before 9 am to report your child’s absence.  Please either telephone and leave a message on the absence line with your child’s full name, year and reason for absence or email the address below.

  • When can my child return to school if they have been ill?

    As long as your child is feeling better then they should return to school as soon as possible.  However, the only exception is if your child has suffered from sickness or upset stomach in which case leave 48 hours after the last incident.

  • School Dinners

    School dinners are available at St Peter’s through Principals Catering.  The cost of a school dinner is £2.30.   Please put the correct money for the number of dinners required in an envelope marked with your child’s name and Year or you can pay direct to Principals via their website www.principalscatering.co.uk.  Please note you can only pay direct for a minimum of 5 school dinners.  

  • If the school closes early due to severe weather conditions during the day, what procedures are in place for collecting my child?

    The School Office will send a text via PupilAsset advising you of the time of early collection and the reason why.  Parents will need to collect children from the School Hall.  Staff will be on hand to call for children and bring them to their parent/carer. Details of school closure will also be on the Kent County Council website. 

  • How do we request a holiday?

    St Peter’s Catholic Primary School does not authorise holiday requests.  Please see the Attendance Policy for further guidance.

  • If I have a concern, when am I able to talk with my child’s teacher?

    You can contact the School Office who will arrange a time for you to speak to your child’s class teacher either before school starts or at the end of the school day. You can also leave a message in the child’s contact book/reading record book or by note to the teacher and they will get back to you with a date and time.

  • Do I need to let the school know if my child is going to be picked up by someone else?

    Yes, parents must telephone or email the School Office if there has been a change to the usual routine at the end of the school day.

  • Where does my child enter and exit the school? Do I accompany my child at these times?

    Mornings

    The school opens at 8.45 am.  All children enter the school via the Junior Playground. Reception Years 1 & 2 pupils through the Blue door and go straight to their classrooms.  Junior children go round the back and enter by their classroom doors. 

    Afternoons

    The school day finishes at 3.25 pm

    Reception parents need to collect their child from the Reception playground.  The gate will be open from 3.25 pm.

    Years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 children should be collected from the Junior playground.

  • After school clubs

    If your child is taking part in an after school club, please collect at 4.20 pm.  In the event that we have to cancel a club, we will notify parents via text message for you to collect at 3.25 pm.

  • How do I find out about my child’s progress and attainment?

    You will be invited to three separate parent consultations throughout each academic year.
