Year 6 - Daring Dinosaurs
Welcome to the Daring Dinosaurs!
Year 6 are taught by class teacher, Mrs Farley-Hills and Mrs Baker and their teaching assistants, Mrs Laming, Mrs Hollands and Mrs Sroka. Being in Year 6 brings added roles and responsibilities around the school. We like our children’s learning to be interesting and motivating. We provide the children with a stimulating ‘WOW’ starter that hooks them into their learning and drives their independence and passion for acquiring new knowledge and skills. The focus on literature inspires teaching and enables the children to be life long readers; seeking enjoyment, pleasure and knowledge. As role models to the rest of our school community, some of the children’s projects include helping the local community which prepares them to be good citizens as they journey towards secondary school.
Home learning is usually set on Friday's and due to return on Wednesday's, this will consist of a literacy and maths challenge. In addition, if your child has a specific need they will receive individualised work.
At home, we expect children in Year 6 to read everyday and have the opportunity to read aloud at least once a week to an adult.
Please ensure they have their PE kit in school, at all times.
If you have any questions or concerns please come and see us.
You are always welcome into the classroom to share your child’s learning.
