PE
At St Peter’s we believe that P.E. is an important part of every child’s education and that all children need access to a wide range of PE, both indoors and outdoors. For some it is their first regular experiences of sport. Every week, each class teacher delivers a P.E lesson and in some cases, as part of our PPA session there is also a planned PE activity. This year as a school we will be following the real PE Programme of Study. The real PE programme provides fun and simple to follow Schemes of Work and support for Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 teachers. It is fully aligned to the new National Curriculum and Ofsted requirements. However, it is more than just a Scheme of Work, it is a fresh approach to how we deliver P.E. Real PE is, first and foremost, a philosophy and approach which aims to transform how we teach P.E. in order to include, challenge and support every child. It supports teachers to make small changes that will have a significant impact on our learners. It focusses on the developmet of agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning through a unique and market leading approach to teaching and learning in P.E.
Lessons will focus on the Fundamental Movement Skills of agility, balance and coordination that the children need to develop in order to access many different sports as they get older. We will focus on the development of their agility, balance and coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning.

We also offer a wide range of before, during and after school sports clubs and regularly take part in competitions within our local area and further afield.
If your child wears earrings, please could these be removed on your their PE day or ensure that your child can remove them before a lesson or supply tape to cover.
