Science

As part of National Science Week 2017, the children at St Peter’s are taking part in their very own Science Fairs. The children were shown a PowerPoint in assembly which contained some scientific ideas for experiments. If they wished, they were to carry out their own experiments and investigations at home and then bring them in to recreate at school If this wasn’t possible, they could document it with photos, descriptions or actual models.

The response was amazing and on Monday 13th March, Reception and KS1 held their fair and on Tuesday 14th March, KS2 held theirs. The level of scientific knowledge and investigation was fantastic and the children involved were able to explain and demonstrate their experiments for the rest of the school and parents.

We then had the extremely difficult task of choosing four winners. In all honesty, we could have chosen triple that amount! Our winners were:

Reception: Milana

Year 1 & 2: Karol

Year 3 & 4: Daniel M

Year 5 & 6: Rowan

Our winners are now going forward to represent St Peter’s at the Sittingbourne and Sheppey Science Fair to be held at Halfway Houses Primary School on Friday 17th March.

Congratulations to all those who took part and we are already looking forward to next year’s fair! J
